With safety remaining its highest priority, the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has simultaneously intensified efforts to strengthen township infrastructure and enhance civic amenities for residents.
As part of its ongoing infrastructure upgradation programme, extensive road repair work has been undertaken across the township. Recently, around 15 km of roads in several sectors were refurbished using advanced micro-surfacing technology, while nearly 11 km of additional roads were repaired. BSL plans to complete micro-surfacing on another 8 km of roads and bituminous repairs on about 10 km of roads by the end of the current financial year.
To improve residential infrastructure, exterior renovation work is in progress in Sectors 8A and 11A. During the last two years, maintenance and repair work has been completed in more than 800 residential blocks. Another 500 blocks have been identified for renovation during the current financial year.
Strengthening the township’s power distribution network, BSL has commissioned two new substations in Sectors 4A and 9, taking the total number of substations established by the plant to nine. Three additional substations are planned in the coming phase.
BSL has also introduced smart lighting control systems and installed LED street lights along major roads, enhancing illumination, improving energy efficiency and contributing to a safer and more sustainable urban environment.
These initiatives underscore BSL’s continued commitment to modern infrastructure development and improving the quality of life for township residents.
