Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday filled and submitted their enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for electoral rolls, urging all eligible voters in the state to complete the verification process within the stipulated deadline.
The Chief Minister completed the formalities at his Residential Office on Kanke Road in Ranchi in the presence of election officials. During the exercise, the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of Booth No. 290 under the 64-Hatia Assembly constituency assisted in completing the enumeration process.
On the occasion, Soren appealed to all eligible voters across Jharkhand to fill out their SIR enumeration forms on time and ensure that their details in the electoral rolls are accurately verified. He said safeguarding the right to vote is a fundamental responsibility of every citizen and stressed that active public participation is essential for strengthening democracy.
The Chief Minister said an accurate and updated electoral roll forms the foundation of free, fair and transparent elections. He urged citizens not only to complete their own verification but also to motivate their family members, neighbours and other eligible voters in their communities to participate in the Special Intensive Revision campaign.
“The democratic participation of every citizen is the greatest strength of democracy. Ensuring that the electoral rolls remain accurate and updated is crucial for conducting free, fair and transparent elections,” he said while appealing for widespread public participation in the exercise.
Kalpana Soren, wife of the Chief Minister, also filled and submitted her SIR enumeration form during the programme.
The event was attended by Ranchi District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, Sub-Divisional Officer Kumar Rajat, Electoral Registration Officer-cum-Additional District Magistrate Dhananjay, Deputy Election Officer Vivek Kumar Suman and Booth Level Officer Veronica Devi.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also filled and signed the enumeration form at Lok Bhavan before handing it over to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) for Polling Station No. 16 of the Ranchi Assembly constituency.
The Governor submitted the form to BLO Manju Kachhap in the presence of Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar, Ranchi District Election Officer Manjunath Bhajantri, and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer Kumar Rajat.
Appealing to eligible voters across the state, Gangwar urged every Indian citizen entitled to vote to cooperate with the ongoing electoral roll revision exercise. He requested residents to promptly fill in and sign the enumeration form when Booth Level Officers visit their homes and return it without delay to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the voters’ list.
The Governor said the Special Intensive Revision is an important democratic exercise aimed at preparing an accurate and inclusive electoral roll. He stressed that active public participation would help strengthen the electoral process and ensure that no eligible voter is left out.
He also extended his best wishes to all officials and personnel associated with the revision programme, expressing confidence that their dedicated efforts would ensure the successful implementation of the campaign across Jharkhand.
