A meeting to review the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, 2026, was held at the Collectorate in Deoghar on Saturday under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the revision exercise in the three Assembly constituencies of Deoghar district — 13-Madhupur, 14-Sarath and 15-Deoghar SC. Directions were issued to Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant EROs and Additional Assistant EROs to ensure timely and transparent disposal of notices, claims and objections.
Bhuvaniya said the notice and claims-and-objections stage was crucial to make the electoral rolls updated, accurate and free from errors. He directed officials to carefully verify applications and data received for inclusion, correction and other changes during the enumeration process.
He said hearings on cases involving no-mapping, logical discrepancies and other categories would begin from August 25. The exercise, he stressed, should ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is excluded from the electoral rolls, while preventing the enrolment of foreign nationals or other ineligible persons.
Officials reviewed the generation and distribution of notices, along with arrangements for the safe custody and segregation of ASDDF/residual enumeration forms according to new polling station lists.
The meeting also reviewed the claims-and-objections period from August 5 to September 15. Eligible citizens attaining 18 years by October 1, 2026, can submit Form-6 for enrolment. The second special camp will be held at all polling stations on August 22 and 23.
Form-8 will be collected where family members are registered at different polling stations, with “Family Together” stickers to identify such households.
