Deputy Commissioner Abhijit Sinha on Saturday held a high-level review meeting at his office chamber to scrutinize the delivery and efficiency of emergency health services across Dumka district. Taking a granular look at the critical care ecosystem, the DC sought detailed reports on medical logistics, diagnostic machinery, and the deployment of specialist physicians, clinical technicians, and support staff catering to high-risk patients.
The review covered emergency preparedness across specialized domains, including cardiac distress, acute respiratory failure, snakebite envenomation, road accident trauma, burn trauma, drowning cases, acute neuro complications, brain hemorrhage, and gynecological crises. Emphasizing that immediate medical intervention forms the cornerstone of emergency response, Sinha issued unambiguous instructions to eliminate any bottlenecks in medical resources, life-saving infrastructure, and duty-staff availability across all government health facilities.
To augment cardiac care capabilities, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to initiate the procurement process for an advanced Echocardiography (Echo) machine without delay. He stressed that acquiring modern technology must go hand in hand with skilled personnel, ordering the immediate issuance of public recruitment notices and robust social media outreach to onboard required technicians and operational manpower for specialized machines.
Turning his focus to transit emergency care, Sinha reviewed the district’s referral and transport mechanism, ordering that standard ambulance fleets remain fully operational and road-ready around the clock. He further called for the strategic positioning and optimal utilization of bike ambulances and toto ambulances in remote and densely populated zones to guarantee seamless last-mile patient transfers during critical golden hours.
