Dr. Amar Pankaj, a Deoghar resident, poet (ghazalist), and lecturer in Ancient Indian History at Swami Shraddhanand College, University of Delhi, will be honoured with the Namvar Centenary Memorial Award by Narayani Sahitya Academy. The award ceremony will take place on 26 July 2026 at Hansraj College auditorium in New Delhi. The award recognizes his distinguished contributions to literature and the ghazal genre.
On 26 July 2026, the Likhavat Foundation, New Delhi, will hold an important event at India International Centre Annexe to release a collection preserving 504 of Dr. Pankaj’s couplets. The book ‘ Chune hue sher’, edited, and compiled by Hare Ram Samip and published by Dr. Kusumlata Singh’s Little Bird Publications—will be launched at that program.
Dr. Pankaj has dedicated this book to his ghazal mentor, Sharad Tailang.
He is the author of 14 books on history, culture, and literature, and has published more than 25 research papers in various national and international journals. His ghazals have appeared periodically in numerous national and international literary magazines. Many of his ghazals are also included in dozens of ghazal anthologies edited by senior poets. Dr. Pankaj’s works are available on the Kavita Kosh and Rekhta websites.
