DUMKA
In a major push to address the long-neglected transit woes of the region, Dumka Lok Sabha MP Nalin Soren strongly championed the expansion of regional rail infrastructure during the parliamentary session, formally urging the Union Ministry of Railways to launch direct train services connecting Dumka to key national metropolitan centers such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai.
Understanding the socio-economic necessity of the proposal, the parliamentarian noted that robust rail connectivity transcends basic transit upgrades, serving instead as a vital lifeline to unlock employment opportunities, educational access, and commercial growth for the students, youth, migrant workforce, and business community across Santhal Pargana.
Bringing Dumka’s pressing grievances to the forefront of national policymaking has been widely hailed by local trade bodies and citizens alike, with regional stakeholders viewing the parliamentary intervention as a watershed moment poised to infuse fresh momentum into tourism, industrial trade, and holistic regional development.
