ESL Steel Limited has become a subsidiary of Vedanta Iron & Steel Limited (VISL) following the successful demerger and listing of Vedanta’s iron and steel business as an independent entity.
Under the new structure, VISL will function as a separately listed company focused exclusively on the iron and steel sector. The restructuring is intended to improve operational efficiency, drive growth, and create long-term value for stakeholders.
Ravish Sharma, CEO and Whole-Time Director of ESL Steel, described the listing of VISL as a key milestone in Vedanta Group’s transformation journey. He said the move positions ESL Steel to better capitalize on growth opportunities, strengthen operational excellence, and enhance stakeholder value.
Sharma emphasized that ESL Steel will continue to operate with its existing identity and governance framework while remaining committed to sustainable development and contributing to the industrial growth of Jharkhand and the country.
The company stated that its day-to-day operations and business activities will remain unchanged despite the corporate restructuring. According to ESL Steel, the new framework will provide greater strategic focus, support long-term expansion plans, and accelerate growth in the iron and steel business.
