A brawl over fish and a push took a toll of a fish catcher in Palamu.
The man pushed so fell into the dam and died by drowning sources said.
His two angler friends didn’t know at once of his death by drowning.
SDPO Chhaterpur Prashant Kumar held a news conference in Chhaterpur on Saturday August 8 releasing a news note, copy of which is with this correspondent.
Three fish catchers by net Sudesh Bhuiyan,56, Ashok Paswan,46 and Dharmendra Ram 48 all of the village Devgan under the Chhaterpur police station limits, went to fishing in the Devgan dam at 8 pm on July 31 read the SDPO news note.
SDPO Kumar said the body of Dharmendra Ram was found the next day August 1 at 3pm.
Ram’s wife Rani Devi,33, lodged the FIR with the Chhaterpur police station on August 1.
Police registered the case under section of murder and others of the BNS.
According to the SDPO Kumar “Before the three anglers could catch fish, they began to quarrel among themselves about the share of the fish which was in water by then.”
The argument enraged Paswan and Bhuiyan so much so that they pushed Ram who accidentally fell into the dam from where he couldn’t swim back to bank of the dam.
SDPO Kumar further said the two Paswan and Bhuiyan left the bank leaving behind Ram, not knowing anything about Ram.
The 2 came home and slept said police.
On August 1 the 2 again returned to the dam to find out as to where Ram could be.
Ram was no where around.
Paswan mustering courage went into the dam only to find dead Ram in water .
SDPO Kumar added”They got shocked and panicked. They took to their heels.”
However Ram’s wife Rani had in her FIR named Paswan and Bhuiyan as prime accused since Ram had gone with the two for fishing on July 31 at 8 night.
Police zeroed in on the two who confessed to their tiff and elbowing and jostling of Ram but not knowing he had fallen right into the dam reiterated the SDPO Chhaterpur.
Paswan and Bhuiyan caught on Friday were remanded to judicial custody on Saturday.
Sources said the fish was in water and on the ground 3 anglers fought over its share losing a life, is a first such incident in Palamu which was professionally cracked by the Chhaterpur police team led by the OC Saurabh Choubey under the supervision of the SDPO Chhaterpur Prashant Kumar.
