The District Administration of Deoghar is continuously conducting surprise inspection drives to ensure that the divine devotees visiting the Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026 are provided with clean, safe, and healthy food. As part of this effort, a joint food safety team constituted by the District Administration carried out surprise inspections of various eateries, thelas (street food stalls), distributors, and wholesale shops located near Mandir Mod.
During the inspection, excessive dirt was found in the kitchen premises of Desi Jayka Bhojanalaya, for which a notice was issued regarding the imposition of a fine. The quality of paneer at all the eateries was found to be satisfactory. A detailed investigation was also conducted at Indian Spice Mutton House in light of an online complaint filed by a consumer.
In the course of the inspection, approximately 360 bags of Fortune brand expired atta (10,000 kg) and about 80 bags of Emami brand besan (800 kg) were found at Siddhi Vinayak Trading. These were immediately segregated from the fresh stock products within the premises and secured in one place pending further orders. Further action will be taken as per the relevant sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, through the issuance of notices.
During the inspection, all establishments were strictly instructed to keep their premises clean and maintain proper hygiene arrangements in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. In view of the Shravani Mela, any complaint received against any establishment will be dealt with as per the rules.
