Four members of gangster Rahul Singh held in Palamu

May 31, 2026

Pioneer News Service, Daltonganj

Haidernagar police in Palamu district nabbed four people of the organised crime network of the most evasive gangster Rahul Singh on the intervening night of Saturday/Sunday May 30/31. The four nabbed miscreants have been identified as Vikrant Singh alias Sikram Singh, 29, Santosh Ram,26, Madhu Kant Prajapti,24 and Vikram Ram 24.

All these four hail from Latehar district. Vikrant Singh has one case against him in Chandwa police station in Latehar district lodged in May 2025. Palamu police are trying to find out the criminal antecedence of the remaining three said sources.

All the four have been booked under sections of the BNS and Arms act. The 4 were forwarded to judicial custody on Sunday May 31 on the FIR lodged by the local police suo moto said police sources. Police have recovered 2 country made 9mm pistols, 2 live rounds of fire and four cell phones.

SDPO Hussainabad Divyansh Shukla, IPS said “It is a pre emptive strike of the police. Before these 4 could have done any crime, police overpowered them and stripped them of their illicit weapons and ammunition.”

A press note of the SP Palamu Kapil Chaudhary read ” SP Palamu received a precise tip off about the assemblage of the desperados of the gangster Rahul Singh, on May 30 night.” These men were out to terrorise the Doers Construction agency engaged in road construction in Haidernagar.

Taking prompt cognizance of the tip off SP directed the SDPO Hussainabad Divyansh Shukla and his team to contain and curb this assemblage of desperados of the organised crime network gangster Rahul Singh. The 4 were arrested in a swift and flawless action of the police said sources as the 4 just couldn’t believe police would so abort their plan to terrorise the Doers Construction agency.

The crime if committed would have been for extraction of money from the construction agency said sources. The said road construction agency had a threat call way back in January 2026. The agency had then lodged the FIR against unknown criminals. Sources said the January FIR against unknown people could be a strategic or tactical move then on the part of the Doers Construction agency.

However these 4 taking the lid off,  confessed to police about making threatening calls to this agency in this January leaving nothing to doubt any more. Sources said the arrest of the 4 in the pre emptive strike has come as a big jolt to the gangster Rahul Singh.
