A meeting of the executive committee of the District Food Security and Nutrition Mission was held on [date] at the Collectorate auditorium here, chaired by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Pashupati Nath Mishra. The committee cleared several schemes for farmers in the district.
Members unanimously approved programmes proposed under the Krishi Unnati Yojana, the pulses and paddy target area scheme (TRFA Pulses), coarse and nutri-cereals, and the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oilseeds (NMEO-OS).
Officials said targets have been fixed for mini-kit distribution and demonstration programmes under the Pulses Self-Sufficiency Scheme for 2026-27. The scheme will promote cultivation of arhar, urad and moong during the kharif season and gram and lentil during the rabi season. The panel also gave post-facto approval to kharif-season work, which has already been completed across all blocks in the district.
As part of the plan, farmers will get certified seeds at a 50 per cent subsidy through LAMPS, PACS, FPOs and private dealers. The committee additionally cleared seed production initiatives under the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the Seed Village Scheme.
Other proposals approved at the meeting include farmer training programmes, setting up of post-harvest processing units, distribution of agricultural equipment, and awareness drives on new farming technologies. While training for farmers will be organised at the block level through BTMs and ATMs, officials will undergo training at the district level.
Deputy Development Commissioner Premlata Murmu, District Agriculture Officer Khushboo Paswan, the Project Director of ATMA, and officials from the district’s cooperative, animal husbandry and fisheries departments were among those present, along with other committee members.
