Pratima Kumari, a student who has been accused of assault, molestation, abuse, and death threats during a student protest in Ranchi on August 21st against alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC examinations has filed a complaint at the Kotwali police station in this connection.
Pratima Kumari has requested the Kotwali police station in-charge to register an FIR against all named accused and other unidentified individuals, investigate the matter, and take appropriate legal action.
Former BJP Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Former BJP state president Deepak Prakash, and several other BJP workers were present with her. The complaint seeks the registration of an FIR against eight named individuals and 35-40 unidentified individuals.
According to information, Pratima Kumari was participating in the student protest on August 21st and was carrying an effigy of the Chief Minister. It is alleged that some JMM workers forcibly snatched the effigy from her hands.
When she protested against the return of the effigy, she was pushed and beaten. The girl has also alleged molestation and indecent behavior. Pratima stated that she was abused and threatened with death for protesting.
The application alleges that Shahbaz Malik allegedly made highly offensive and derogatory remarks against her and attempted to publicly humiliate and intimidate her.
The application states that 35-40 other people, including Naveen Chanchal, Uttam Yadav, Shahbaz Malik, Mustaq Alam, Ashutosh Verma alias Sonu Verma, Ankita Verma, Dr. Hemlal Kumar Mehta, and Ashwini Sharma, were also present at the scene and allegedly supported the accused. These individuals have not yet been identified.
The application requests the police to secure video footage, CCTV footage, news agency videos, videos available on social media, and videos recorded on eyewitnesses’ mobile phones to identify the accused.
