The Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will be held from August 6 to August 12. The Assembly has completed all preparations for the smooth and productive conduct of the session.
A day ahead of the session, an all-party meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto, with the participation of the Leader of the House, Leader of the Opposition, Parliamentary Affairs Minister and representatives of various political parties.
After the meeting, Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto said that all arrangements had been completed for the Monsoon Session beginning Thursday. He said several important decisions had already been taken at a high-powered committee meeting held on August 3 to ensure the smooth functioning of the House. The Assembly’s Business Advisory Committee is also scheduled to meet on August 6 to discuss the business and proceedings of the House during the Monsoon Session.
The Speaker said the provisional schedule of the session was also discussed with leaders and representatives of all political parties during Wednesday’s meeting.
Expressing hope for the successful conduct of the session, Mahto said discussions in the Assembly should lead to meaningful outcomes in the larger interest of the state.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, MLAs Pradeep Yadav, Suresh Paswan, Arup Chatterjee, Jairam Kumar Mahato and Nirmal Mahato, besides representatives of various political parties and other dignitaries, were present at the meeting.
