A mega blood donation camp will be organized on June 14, World Blood Donor Day, under the joint aegis of the Press Club of Jamshedpur, Pratik Sangharsh Foundation and The Milanee, with support from Tata Steel Foundation. The camp will be dedicated to journalists who have passed away in recent years, recognizing their contributions to the media fraternity and society.
The blood donation camp will be held at The Milanee Auditorium in Bistupur from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The information was jointly shared by the Press Club of Jamshedpur General Secretary Vikas Srivastava, Pratik Sangharsh Foundation Director Arijit Sarkar, and The Milanee Secretary Dipankar Datta along with Joint Secretary Krishnendu Chatterjee.
The organizers said the camp would pay tribute to several eminent journalists, including senior journalist and founder-editor of Uditvani, Radhe Shyam Agarwal; senior journalist and the first General Secretary of the Press Club of Jamshedpur, Siddhanath Dubey; and senior journalists of Prabhat Khabar, Manish Sinha and Ajay Pandey, among others.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, the organizers noted that the summer months of May, June and July often witness a shortage of blood as fewer donation camps are organized during the extreme heat, while demand for blood continues to rise. The camp has therefore been planned to help strengthen blood reserves and support patients in need.
Appealing to journalists, their family members and the general public, the organizers urged everyone to participate enthusiastically in the blood donation drive and contribute towards saving lives. They emphasized that a single unit of donated blood can benefit multiple patients and serve as a lifeline during medical emergencies.
