Palamu district has achieved its first ever completion of special intensive revision (SIR) of electors at booth number 139 under the Bishrampur assembly constituency today Sunday.
BLO of this booth number 139 Sumitra Devi has done Palamu proud said the electoral registration officer of this constituency Kundan Kumar who is the additional collector.
“There were 542 electors at this booth. In the SIR two were found absent, 24 electors had shifted, 10 were dead and two were found duplicate” said Kumar.
“This BLO distributed enumeration forms, got it filled, collected the filled forms and then digitised it all” added the electoral registration officer Kumar.
There is an interesting tale of this booth. This booth is the ‘sole property’ of Palamu’s Bishrampur assembly constituency. However this booth is located in a government primary school at Beerbandha under the Garhwa district.
The interesting part of this booth is that although it comes under Palamu’s Bishrampur assembly constituency, this booth is a trans border booth of this Palamu district, falling in Garhwa district explained the electoral registration officer Kundan Kumar.
The other important thing about this booth is that its electoral registration officer Kundan Kumar and district election officer Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat who is the DC are of Palamu district administration.
Sources said the CO of Majhiaon Anchal in Garhwa district Mrs Kanak, who is the assistant electoral officer, played a great motivator of the BLO Sumitra Devi who hails from Garhwa district’s Majhiaon block also.
Palamu district election officer Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, DC, has ‘hailed the entire completion of the SIR at this booth 139 in a highly professional and meticulous and flawless manner’
A PRD note issued on behalf of the district election officer Shekhawat read this is not only a spectacular achievement of a lone BLO of a lone booth rather it’s a well co ordinated and well monitored effort of the team.
Shekhawat told this correspondent this July 14 there would be a second interactive session with BLOs and BLAs on the remaining phase of SIR where human resources would be further asked to pool in their best to achieve 100 percent SIR barring the absentee, shifted, dead and duplicate.
There are 367 booths in the Bishrampur assembly constituency including trans border booths falling in Garhwa district’s Majhiaon, Bardeeha and Kandee blocks. Bishrampur assembly constituency’s trans border booths falling in Garhwa district account for a total of 158 booths out of 367 booths.
