PVUNL organised the Second Ash User Meet 2026 at Ranchi on 18.07.2026 under the theme “A Resilient Journey of Transformation from Waste to Wealth.”
The programme brought together policymakers, industry experts, researchers, academicians and ash users to promote sustainable and innovative utilization of fly ash. Shri A K Sehgal CEO PVUNL along with Shri Manish Khetrapal CGM O&M welcomed the dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, Shri A. K. Sehgal, CEO, PVUNL, highlighted that fly ash is a valuable resource for sustainable infrastructure and economic growth.
He outlined PVUNL’s initiatives, including dry bottom ash handling, Air-Cooled Condenser (ACC) technology for water conservation, research on rare earth mineral extraction, and skill development programmes for Self-Help Groups to manufacture fly ash-based products. The event was graced by Shri Aboobacker Siddique P., IAS, Secretary, Government of Jharkhand and Chairman NBC Shri V Suresh.
The programme was attended by eminent dignitaries from the Government of Jharkhand, HUDCO, CPWD, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, ICAR-IARI, CSIR-CIMFR, Indian Railways and other leading institutions. A souvenir on sustainable ash utilization was released, and eco-friendly fly ash mementoes were presented to delegates.
The technical session focused on scientific innovations, sustainable construction practices and carbon market opportunities. The event concluded with a collective commitment to transform industrial waste into valuable resources through technology, collaboration and innovation, reaffirming PVUNL’s vision of a greener and more sustainable future.
