RRD marks World Environment Day with plantation drive

Ranchi Rail Division celebrated World Environment Day on Friday with plantation drives and awareness programmes at various locations across the division.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Karuna Nidhi Singh administered an environmental protection pledge to railway officers and employees at the divisional office premises. Following the pledge, a walkathon was organised from the divisional office to Hatia Railway Colony Park and back, witnessing enthusiastic participation from staff members.

Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, DRM Karuna Nidhi Singh, Additional DRM Hemraj Meena, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Raju Tirkey and other officers and employees planted saplings at Hatia Railway Colony Park.

Plantation programmes were also conducted at the Hatia Coaching Depot, railway stations, Railway Protection Force posts and outposts, running rooms and other railway offices across the division. Various activities were organised to spread awareness about environmental conservation and promote a greener environment.

Senior divisional officers and employees participated in the programmes aimed at encouraging environmental responsibility among railway personnel and the public.
