S. Subbaraj, previously Executive Director, Alloy Steel Plant, Durgapur; took over as Executive Director, SAIL-CET, Ranchi on Thursday evening. Subbaraj is a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi and has over 36 years of distinguished experience with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
He joined SAIL in 1990 at Bokaro Steel Plant as a Management Trainee (Technical) and has since held several key assignments at Bokaro Steel Plant, Alloy Steels Plant and SAIL’s Corporate Office.
During his extensive career, he has handled diverse portfolios encompassing Steel Melting Shops, Blast Furnaces, Production Planning, Logistics, Coal Planning & Distribution, Safety, Environment Management, Projects, R&D and Materials Management. He also served as Technical Advisor to the Director (Technical), SAIL, and played a pivotal role in steering the organisation’s Modernisation & Expansion Programme of 2007.
Since 2019, Subbaraj has been serving as the Chief Executive of Alloy Steels Plant, Durgapur, providing strategic and operational leadership to the plant.
