SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) achieved multiple production milestones in July 2026 and the April–July period, registering record performances across key production units and reinforcing its operational excellence.
During July, Hot Strip Mill-2 recorded its highest-ever monthly rolling of HR Coil Total, while the Sheet Shearing Line posted its best-ever monthly production of HR plates.
For the April–July period, Sinter Plant-1 produced 5.11 lakh tonnes of sinter, taking total sinter production to a record 24.02 lakh tonnes. Blast Furnace hot metal production also reached an all-time high of 10.69 lakh tonnes since inception, while Plate Mill achieved its highest-ever April–July output of 1.82 lakh tonnes of plates.
HSM-2 also recorded its best-ever April–July production of HR Coil Total, HR Coil for Sale and HR Plates. Total saleable steel production touched a record 13.93 lakh tonnes, registering a 3.6% growth over the corresponding period last year, reflecting the plant’s sustained operational momentum and coordinated performance across the value chain.
