Responding to recent regulatory action by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) has launched an urgent recruitment drive for temporary Assistant Professors to ensure the uninterrupted functioning and recognition of its self-financed B.Ed. programmes.
The university has announced a walk-in interview on August 13 at its Dighi campus to fill five teaching positions across three constituent B.Ed. colleges—Sahibganj B.Ed. College, K.K.M. B.Ed. College in Pakur, and Godda B.Ed. College. The vacancies include one post each in English, Mathematics, Biological Science, Physics/Chemistry, and Political Science under Social Science.
University officials said the recruitment aims to address the shortage of faculty and ensure compliance with NCTE norms. They added that the qualifications and selection process will strictly follow NCTE regulations and the guidelines of the Jharkhand Department of Higher and Technical Education.
Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly honorarium of ₹57,700. The appointments will be purely temporary and will continue until the respective B.Ed. course remains operational or the appointee attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Eligible candidates have been asked to download the prescribed application form from the university website and report to the Dighi campus at 10 am on August 13 with a completed application, self-attested copies of academic and supporting documents, original certificates for verification, and the prescribed application fee through a Demand Draft.
The application fee has been fixed at ₹1,000 for General, EWS and OBC candidates, and ₹500 for SC, ST and PH applicants. Candidates already employed must produce a No Objection Certificate, while incomplete applications will not be considered. The university said the recruitment process will strictly adhere to the state’s reservation policy.
