Marking World Youth Skills Day, the Deoghar district administration organised a placement drive that provided employment opportunities to skilled youth while promoting self-employment under the Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana.
Held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania, the placement drive was organised by the Mega Centre – All India Institute of Local Self Government, Deoghar, in collaboration with Colossal Skills Private Limited. The initiative was conducted under the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS), functioning under the Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development.
As part of the drive, 35 trained youths received offer letters for the post of Assembling Operator at Aether Energy Company in Bengaluru. In addition, a woman trainee, Reena Devi, was provided with a sewing machine to encourage self-employment and financial independence.
Shahi Exports Private Limited also participated in the programme, with company representatives interacting with candidates and explaining available job opportunities, recruitment procedures, workplace culture and career growth prospects.
District Skill Officer Shailendra Kumar Sah attended the event as the chief guest, while UNDP Project Assistant Priyavrat Mishra and representatives of various skill training institutes were also present.
Successful trainees shared their experiences, with Ayush Chaudhary stressing the importance of discipline and time management, while Annu Kumari narrated how skill training helped her secure a position as Front Office Manager at Adishakti Hospital.
Addressing the gathering, the District Skill Officer urged youth to view skill training as a pathway to meaningful employment and self-reliance rather than merely obtaining certificates. He said skilled youth are key to achieving the vision of a developed India and encouraged them to fully utilise the opportunities offered under the Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana.
