Tiger Knights scripted history by winning the Jamshedpur Golf League (JGL) Season 9 title, defeating Eagle Eye in a dramatic sudden-death playoff at the Beldih Golf Course. Led by captain Sourabh Agarwal, the team became the first in the league’s history to win three consecutive championships.
The final proved to be one of the closest in JGL history. After 36 holes played over the weekend, both teams were tied at 20-20, leading to a three-hole playoff. With neither side able to gain an advantage, the contest eventually entered sudden death.
The opening playoff hole was halved, while Eagle Eye stayed in contention on the second after Akshay carded a par (net birdie). Tiger Knights responded on the third playoff hole through pars by Nikhil Adesara and Harsh Kr. Pandey, forcing the title decider into sudden death.
The decisive moment came on the fourth playoff hole. After Nikhil Adesara’s tee shot found a water hazard, Harsh Kr. Pandey held his nerve, reaching the green in regulation before sinking a par (net birdie) to secure the championship and spark celebrations among the Tiger Knights.
Captain Sourabh Agarwal credited his teammates for their determination and composure under pressure throughout the tournament.
Despite finishing runners-up, Eagle Eye, captained by Rohit Singh, earned praise for pushing the defending champions to the final shot in a contest widely regarded as one of the finest JGL finals.
The victorious Tiger Knights squad comprised Sourabh Agarwal (Captain), Harsh Kr. Pandey, Jitu Patel, Nikhil Adesara, Nishant Jha, Punam Doshi, Rohhit Narendra Tiwary, Sandip Adesara, Sanjay Verma, Taranpreet Singh Khanuja, Tripti Singh, Varun Soni and Vinayak Siddhi.
Players from all participating teams also appreciated the organisers, including Golf Captain D. B. Sundara Ramam, Golf Secretary Neeraj Sinha and CEO Alan Singh, for successfully conducting another memorable edition of the league over nearly three months.
