With blood banks often facing shortages during the summer due to a decline in voluntary donations, Arpan Parivar has resolved to ensure that patients in the city do not suffer from a lack of blood by organizing its 11th Mega Blood Donation Camp on June 28 (Sunday). The camp will be held at the Jamshedpur Blood Bank in Dhatkidih from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Preparations for the mega camp were reviewed during a meeting held at the Jamshedpur Blood Bank, where members discussed donor registration, volunteer responsibilities, publicity, logistical arrangements and strategies to maximize public participation. Participants pledged to make the upcoming blood donation drive one of the most successful service initiatives undertaken by the organization.
Addressing the meeting, Arpan Parivar Patron Amarpreet Singh Kale said blood donation is one of the greatest forms of humanitarian service, as a single unit of blood has the potential to save multiple lives. He said the organization is committed to ensuring that city residents do not face blood shortages during the summer season and that members would motivate as many people as possible to come forward and donate blood.
Appealing to the public, Kale urged citizens to visit the Jamshedpur Blood Bank on June 28 between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm and voluntarily donate blood. He said that a single unit of blood could become the greatest hope for a patient battling for life.
Jamshedpur Blood Bank Head Sanjay Chaudhary said that while the demand for blood remains constant throughout the summer, the number of donors generally declines. In such circumstances, he said, mega blood donation camps organized by voluntary organizations play a crucial role in maintaining adequate blood stocks. Appreciating the efforts of Arpan Parivar, he described its blood donation campaign as “an exemplary model of humanitarian service.”
The meeting was conducted by Jugun Pandey, while Jeevan Singhdev proposed the vote of thanks.
Among those present were Akhilesh Pandey, Bunty Singh, Bibhash Majumdar, Prince Singh, Ghanshyam Bhirbharia, Suman Kumar, Ranjit Kumar, Deepak Singh, Suraj Bag and others. All members reaffirmed their commitment to making the 11th Mega Blood Donation Camp a grand success.
