Bokaro Steel has renewed its Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme for 2026–27, with the Group Personal Accident Insurance Committee issuing the official circular for the new policy period.
Following a competitive bidding process, Bajaj General Insurance Limited has been selected as the insurer. The annual premium has been fixed at ₹56.64 per lakh of insurance cover per person, inclusive of all taxes.
The scheme is available to all on-roll executive and non-executive employees of Bokaro Steel Plant, including its mines and collieries. This year, employees can also avail insurance cover for their spouse. Newly recruited and transferred employees will become eligible after deduction of the applicable pro-rata premium.
The insurance cover is ₹25 lakh for employees and ₹5 lakh for spouses, along with ₹5,000 for ambulance expenses and ₹20,000 for funeral expenses. The policy will remain valid from September 13, 2026, to September 12, 2027, while premium will be deducted from the August 2026 salary.
Employees wishing to opt out of the scheme, as well as those opting in for spouse coverage, must submit fresh applications through the HCM system by July 31, 2026. Claims for accidental death or permanent total disability must be reported to the committee secretary within 25 days through the concerned departmental officer.
