In a significant achievement during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Latehar district on Wednesday recorded its first instance of a Booth Level Officer (BLO) achieving 100 per cent distribution of enumeration forms and 100 per cent digitisation of the completed forms.
According to district officials, the achievement was made by BLO Lakhni Nagesia of Booth No. 262 at Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, Surkai, under Mahuadanr block in the Manika Assembly constituency. Recognising her performance, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Sandip Kumar presented her with a letter of appreciation.
Officials said the accomplishment was particularly noteworthy as Mahuadanr is a remote area where internet connectivity remains erratic, posing challenges to the digitisation process. Despite these constraints, the district administration said BLOs have been working diligently to complete the revision exercise.
Sandip Kumar informed that Mahuadanr block has achieved 99.92 per cent distribution of enumeration forms among its 54,767 electors, while digitisation of submitted forms has reached 50.50 per cent. He expressed confidence that the pace of digitisation would increase significantly in the coming days.
“An anomaly-free enumeration form enables faster digitisation. We appeal to all electors to fill and submit their forms to their respective BLOs without delay,” he said.
The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is scheduled to conclude on July 29. Latehar district has 679 Booth Level Officers, one for each polling booth, covering over 5.60 lakh electors across the Manika and Latehar Assembly constituencies. The administration has intensified efforts to complete the remaining digitisation work within the stipulated timeline.
