Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu on Thursday accused the Congress of adopting “double standards” on recruitment examination irregularities and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into all major recruitment examinations conducted in the state over the past six years.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters, Sahu alleged that examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), JSSC-CGL, Excise Constable recruitment and teacher recruitment processes were marred by question paper leaks and irregularities. He claimed that the Congress, despite speaking about examination transparency at the national level, had remained silent on alleged irregularities in Jharkhand, where it is part of the ruling alliance.
The BJP leader also questioned the ongoing CID investigation into the JPSC controversy, alleging that it would not ensure accountability and comparing it to the probe into the alleged liquor scam. He urged the Congress to support the BJP’s demand for a CBI inquiry if it was genuinely concerned about the interests of students and job aspirants.
Sahu further accused Congress workers of pelting stones, eggs and tomatoes during a protest outside the BJP state office earlier in the day. He also alleged that some police officials acted in a partisan manner and demanded strict action against those responsible.
The BJP said it would lodge an FIR over the incident and seek legal action against those involved.
