The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday heard a petition seeking the cancellation of the Preliminary Examination conducted for the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Civil Services Examination, citing alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
During the hearing, the Court directed JPSC’s counsel, Sanjoy Piperwal, to file a response and scheduled the next hearing for September 24.
The petition was filed by JPSC aspirant Rajesh Prasad, who alleged several serious procedural lapses in the conduct of the preliminary examination. According to the plea, the Commission failed to publish the cut-off marks and upload the OMR answer sheets, while the result notification was also issued without the signatures of the competent authorities.
The petitioner further questioned the selection of 418 candidates from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process.
Rajesh Prasad argued the case in person before the High Court.
The matter was heard by the bench of Justice Anubha Rawat Choudhary. During Thursday’s proceedings, the Court did not pass any interim order and listed the case for further hearing on September 24 after directing the JPSC to submit its response.
The case comes amid growing scrutiny of JPSC recruitment examinations, with multiple allegations of irregularities currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
