Aadhaar camps held for children across Deoghar

June 5, 2026

Shatrughn Prasad

Deoghar

The Deoghar district administration has launched a special month-long campaign to ensure 100 per cent Aadhaar enrolment of children aged between 0 and 5 years studying in Anganwadi centres across the district.

As part of the initiative, a roster-based system has been put in place under which Aadhaar enrolment for children is being conducted at Panchayat Bhawans and designated centres across all eight blocks of the district from June 1 to June 30, 2026.

Special Aadhaar enrolment camps were organized on Thursday in various Gram Panchayats, witnessing a strong response from parents who turned up in large numbers to register their children.

The camps were held at Badia Panchayat in Karon block, Badanarayanpur Panchayat in Madhupur block, AWCS Dwarapahari in Margomunda block, Banka in Mohanpur block, Basbutia in Palojori block, Basahataand in Sarath block, Rakti in Sarwan block, Magdiha Panchayat in Sonaraithadi block, and Indira Nagar under the Deoghar Municipal Corporation area.

Deoghar Deputy Commissioner said the primary objective of the campaign is to ensure that every child in the district possesses an Aadhaar card, enabling them to seamlessly access benefits under Anganwadi services and various government welfare schemes.

Appealing to parents and guardians, the DC urged them to visit their nearest Panchayat Bhawan or designated enrolment centre according to the roster schedule of their respective blocks and ensure Aadhaar enrolment of their children aged 0-5 years.

For enrolment, parents are required to submit the Aadhaar card of either the mother or father along with a valid birth certificate of the child.

To ensure effective implementation of the campaign, the district administration has directed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) to closely monitor the enrolment process and make sure that no eligible child is left out.

Officials said the drive forms part of the administration’s broader efforts to strengthen access to child welfare services and improve coverage of government schemes through universal Aadhaar enrolment.
