Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy towards financial irregularities, Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha conducted surprise inspections of the District Nazarat Office at the Collectorate and the Building Division Office at Camp-II on Saturday. He directed officials to ensure strict compliance with financial rules, warning that any deviation would invite stringent action.
During the inspection of the District Nazarat Office, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed key financial records, including the cash book, stock register, contingent register and allocation register. He instructed officials to maintain updated records and announced that the District Accounts Audit Committee would conduct a detailed audit of the office from July 1 to strengthen transparency and financial accountability.
Jha also directed the Nazarat Deputy Collector to verify all financial and stock records before presenting them to the audit committee. Stressing fiscal discipline, he said government funds must be utilised strictly for the purpose for which they are allocated.
Taking serious note of the viral video related to the Building Division Office, the Deputy Commissioner also carried out a surprise inspection of the office. Officials informed him that the viral video allegedly showed contractors exchanging money after the scheduled completion of an offline tender process. The DC directed the Additional Collector to issue notices to all concerned contractors and office personnel, record their statements, and submit a detailed inquiry report within one week.
