CGPC felicitates sports achievers and community contributor

The Central Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (CGPC) felicitated three distinguished members of the Sikh community for their contributions to sports and social activities at a function held in Sonari.
Jujhar Singh was honoured for his national record in javelin throw, recognising his achievement and contribution to Indian athletics. Avtar Singh was felicitated for his past role as captain of the Indian cycling team at the Commonwealth and Asian Games.
Sukhdeep Kaur, wife of Avtar Singh, was also honoured for her achievements as a state-level hockey player in Madhya Pradesh and for supporting her husband in various social activities for the past three decades.
The felicitation recognised not only sporting excellence but also the role played by members of the community in social service and public welfare activities over the years.
Several distinguished personalities from the Sikh community attended the programme, including Bhagwan Singh, President, Shailendra Singh, Chairman, Inderjit Singh, General Secretary, Patna Sahib, Sukhwinder Singh Raju, Senior Vice-President, Amarjit Singh, General Secretary and Parbinder Singh.
The dignitaries appreciated the achievements of the awardees and highlighted the importance of encouraging sportspersons and community members who have made significant contributions to society.
