DDC meet reviews banking performance and welfare schemes

June 2, 2026

Pioneer News Service, Garhwa

A review meeting of the District Consultative Committee (DCC) for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025–26 was held at the Garhwa Collectorate under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pashupatinath Mishra. The meeting focused on assessing the implementation and progress of various banking and government-sponsored development schemes across the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed compliance with previous directives and evaluated the performance of banks under several key initiatives, including the Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio, Annual Credit Plan (ACP) 2025–26, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), MSME financing, PMFME, Didi Lakhpati Yojana, RSETI, and financial inclusion programs. Banks were instructed to improve their performance and work towards achieving their assigned targets.

Emphasizing public welfare, Mishra urged bank officials to ensure wider coverage of government schemes such as PMEGP, KCC, and Mudra loans so that eligible beneficiaries receive timely support. He also directed banks to expedite the approval of pending PM-Kisan-related applications and simplify KCC procedures to make agricultural credit more accessible to farmers.

The review revealed that Garhwa’s CD Ratio declined from 46 percent in the third quarter to 42.96 percent in the fourth quarter of FY 2025–26. Based on this performance, the administration identified the five best-performing and five lowest-performing banks in the district. Banks showing weaker performance were advised to improve their lending activities and contribute to raising the district’s CD Ratio.

On the occasion, dependents of two beneficiaries were presented with symbolic cheques of ₹2 lakh each under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. The assistance was facilitated through the State Bank of India for beneficiaries Jhulan Sao and Vikas Kumar.
