A meeting of the Trust Council of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) was organized under the chairmanship of DC Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania at the Collectorate Auditorium.
Dumka MP Nalin Soren, Deoghar MLA Suresh Paswan, representatives of ministers and other MLAs, along with concerned Panchayat Mukhiyas, were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the updated status of various ongoing schemes in mining-affected areas. He directed officials of the concerned departments to complete all works in a time-bound and quality manner.
The DC and other members were briefed about the schemes selected so far and their current progress. He emphasized that all schemes under the District Mineral Foundation Trust should be selected in a transparent manner according to the needs of the local environment in mining-affected areas so that proper and meaningful development can take place.
The DC further directed officials to divide DMFT funds into two categories — High Priority and Other Priority areas. High priority sectors include drinking water supply, sanitation, health, education, skill development, women’s education, etc. He stressed that scheme selection should be done transparently with the cooperation of local villagers and public representatives.
In the meeting, approval was accorded for various integrated development schemes in Karon, Sarath, and Palojori blocks. Approval was also given for the establishment of Kangaroo Mother Care Units for newborns in the Community Health Centers of all three blocks.
Additionally, approval was granted for setting up a Center of Excellence to provide training in Cyber Security and AI for children from mining-affected areas. A decision was also taken to conduct a survey for preparing a list of panchayats and villages falling under mining-affected zones.
Others present in the meeting included Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, DFO Abhishek Bhushan, District Planning Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Supply Officer, Headquarters DSP, Executive Engineers, Assistant Public Relations Officer, DMFT team members, and other concerned officers and staff.
