Door-to-door voter mapping gains momentum in Lohardaga

June 15, 2026

Lohardaga

The voter verification and mapping process under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign gathered momentum across Lohardaga district on Sunday, with election officials conducting extensive field visits to ensure the accuracy and updation of electoral records. Officials said that the campaign was aimed at making the electoral roll error-free and up-to-date. As part of the exercise, the Deputy Election Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) visited polling stations and households to verify unmapped voters and facilitate their mapping.

During the drive, officials reportedly interacted directly with voters and explained the importance of correct mapping in the electoral roll. They also urged those whose mapping had not yet been completed to ensure that the process was finalized by June 15, 2026.

Project Director, ITDA-cum-Deputy Election Officer Sushma Neelam Soreng reviewed the progress of the mapping exercise at various polling stations in Tati and Kuru panchayats under Kuru block. Similarly, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Kumar inspected polling booths in Peshrar and Kisko blocks and assessed the status of the campaign. Authorities stated that inspections were also carried out by AEROs across all blocks, circles, and the Municipal Council area. According to officials, information relating to unmapped voters was being linked with records from the 2003 electoral roll to maintain the accuracy and credibility of voter data.
