Jamshedpur

In a significant achievement for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, three engineering students have secured placements with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The recruitment drive was conducted on June 11 and 12 through a rigorous selection process.

The selected students are Lanka Sri Laxmi Prasanna Kumar from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Tanisha Srivastava and Priyanshu Kumar from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Each student will receive an annual package of Rs 13 Lakhs per annum.

The students have been recruited for the highly specialized position of Seeker Development, a critical area in modern defence systems. In this role, they will contribute to the development of advanced seeker technologies used in missile systems for target acquisition, tracking, and precision engagement.

The position demands a high level of technical expertise and offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence technologies that play a crucial role in strengthening the nation’s security infrastructure.

The achievement highlights the strong academic foundation, technical competence, and industry-oriented training provided at NIT Jamshedpur. Securing positions in one of India’s premier defence electronics organizations is considered a major milestone for the students and a matter of pride for the institute.

Faculty members and placement officials noted that such accomplishments demonstrate the institute’s commitment to producing highly skilled engineers capable of meeting the demands of strategically important sectors.

The successful placement of the three students in BEL underscores NIT Jamshedpur’s growing contribution to India’s technological advancement and defence preparedness. The achievement also reflects the confidence that leading public sector and defence organizations continue to place in the talent emerging from the institute.

With students securing opportunities in specialized and nationally significant domains, NIT Jamshedpur continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the country’s leading engineering institutions.
