Marking World Youth Skills Day, ESL Steel Limited reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth through skill development, digital education, entrepreneurship and sports, with CEO and Whole Time Director Ravish Sharma stating that investing in people is the company’s most meaningful investment.
Sharma said initiatives such as the Vedanta ESL Skill School, digital learning centres and sports development programmes are equipping young people with the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to build successful careers. He added that empowering youth through education and employability is central to ESL Steel’s vision of creating inclusive and sustainable growth for the communities it serves.
Since its inception in 2022, the Vedanta ESL Skill School has trained over 700 youth in industry-relevant trades, with more than 400 securing organised sector employment. Through Project AAS Vidyalaya, the company has expanded access to digital learning in rural Jharkhand, while the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy has nurtured young talent, producing over 200 medals at district, state and national competitions.
Its women-centric Project JIVIKA has further strengthened livelihoods through skill development and entrepreneurship, with ESL Steel’s community initiatives benefiting more than one lakh people.
