Election authorities in Palamu are closely monitoring cross-border polling booths located in neighbouring Garhwa district during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, describing them as a key area of concern.
The Bishrampur Assembly constituency has 158 trans-border booths spread across Kandi (69), Bardeeha (32), and Majhiaon (57) blocks of Garhwa district. According to official data available till 8 pm on July 13, 2026, the distribution of enumeration forms has made significant progress, with pendency standing at 1.57 per cent in Kandi, 0.60 per cent in Bardeeha, and 3.91 per cent in Majhiaon.
The three blocks together have over 1.56 lakh electors enrolled in Bishrampur Assembly constituency despite being located in Garhwa district.
However, digitisation of the filled forms remains slower. Pendency in digitisation stands at 40.19 per cent in Kandi, 35.69 per cent in Bardeeha, and 29.95 per cent in Majhiaon.
Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for Bishrampur Assembly constituency Kundan Kumar said Palamu Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat is personally monitoring the progress of the exercise.
“We are reviewing the digitisation work every day. With nearly two weeks left before the July 29 deadline, the pace is expected to improve,” Kumar said.
Apart from Bishrampur, the Daltonganj Assembly constituency has 55 trans-border booths located in Bhandariya and Bargar blocks of Garhwa district. Officials said these booths are also under constant watch to ensure the timely completion of the SIR exercise and accurate updating of electoral rolls.
