The ATMA Governing Body on Monday approved the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) action plan for 2026–27 during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Pashupati Nath Mishra at the Collectorate Conference Hall.

Reviewing the implementation of schemes for 2025–26, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to ensure timely execution of government programmes to maintain Garhwa’s strong performance at the state level. He asked Block Technology Managers (BTMs) and Assistant Technology Managers (ATMs) to make regular field visits, address farmers’ grievances promptly and advise farmers to undertake sowing according to prevailing weather conditions.

Officials informed the meeting that Farmers’ Field Schools are functioning at Chama in Meral Block, Bansani in Bhawnathpur Block and Ramna Block, while Agri Clinics have been established in Garhwa, Nagar Untari and Ranka to provide technical support to farmers.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of pond restoration, deep borewell installation, pump-set distribution, the Chief Minister’s Tractor Distribution Scheme, cow distribution, milking machines and vermicompost units.

Officials said all activities under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan implemented through the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana have been completed. Under the Livestock Development Scheme, financial assistance has been transferred to 977 beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The meeting further reviewed cooperative initiatives, crop insurance and warehouse construction. Under the Birsa Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance has been approved for over 1.04 lakh Kharif farmers and 12,049 Rabi farmers.

The Deputy Commissioner also administered the “Prosperity Through Cooperation” pledge and announced a special cooperative membership drive from June 29 to July 6 as part of Cooperation Week.
