The Jharkhand government is set to take a major step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the state by collaborating with HLL Healthcare Limited for the development of modern hospitals and medical facilities.
A high-level meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary of the Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, was held on Wednesday to discuss the proposed initiative.
During the meeting, HLL Healthcare Limited made a detailed presentation outlining its plans to support the state in building new hospitals, providing technical consultancy, procuring modern medical equipment, and managing hospital operations. The company also expressed its willingness to assist in training doctors and paramedical staff, as well as setting up training-cum-simulation centres.
HLL, which has been associated with several major healthcare projects across India, including AIIMS institutions, showcased its expertise in handling large-scale medical infrastructure projects.
Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, Singh said that partnering with an experienced organisation like HLL would help bridge the gap in specialised technical expertise in the state’s health sector.
He directed the company to submit a detailed proposal within seven days, focusing on the comprehensive development of Community Health Centres (CHCs) and trauma centres under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Dr. Neha Arora, Additional Secretary Shashi Prakash Singh, NHM Managing Director Shashi Prakash Jha, Joint Secretary Lalit Mohan Shukla, Director-in-Chief Dr. Siddharth Sanyal, and representatives of HLL.
