On the occasion of the 62nd Foundation Day of the Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, held in Mumbai on 22nd August 2026, certificates for three GI-registered products of Jharcraft, Jharkhand Tasar Silk Sarees and Fabrics, Jharkhand Bamboo Craft & Munda Jewellery of Jharkhand were handed over to Smt. Garima Singh, IAS, Managing Director, Jharcraft, by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh.
The recognition marks a significant achievement for Jharcraft and Jharkhand, showcasing the state’s rich handloom and handicraft heritage at the national level and strengthening the identity and market potential of its traditional products.
The achievement is expected to further support Jharcraft’s efforts towards the promotion, preservation and commercialisation of Jharkhand’s traditional crafts, while providing greater recognition and opportunities for the artisans associated with these products. The occasion also highlights Jharcraft’s commitment to taking the rich cultural heritage and unique craftsmanship of Jharkhand to wider national and international markets.
