Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Alok Kumar Dubey said the participation of female students in the “Chhatraon Ki Goonj” programme in Pune reflects a growing demand among students and young people for greater attention to issues concerning their education, employment and future.
Dubey said the programme, held under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, had given a platform to female students to raise their concerns and assert their rights. He described the gathering as more than a political programme, calling it an expression of the aspirations, concerns and desire for change among students and young people across the country.
“Today, the country is witnessing the courage, struggle and determination of its daughters,” Dubey said, adding that the voices raised in Pune could resonate with students and young people in other parts of the country.
He alleged that the concerns of students and youth had been repeatedly overlooked and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would face political consequences if the government continued to ignore their demands.
According to Dubey, young people are seeking employment opportunities, quality education, transparent recruitment and examination processes, and greater security for their future rather than what he termed “speeches and slogans.”
He further said that if issues concerning students and youth continued to be postponed, young people would respond through democratic means. He described the Pune gathering as a sign of growing awareness among female students about their rights and future.
“Daughters cannot be silenced or ignored,” Dubey said, asserting that the participation of students in the programme represented a broader voice of young people across the country.
Dubey said the Congress would continue to raise issues concerning students, youth and women and work for their rights. He added that the message emerging from Pune would reach different parts of the country and keep the concerns of students and young people in the public discourse.
