Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) Central Senior Vice-President and student leader Devendra Nath Mahto on Tuesday met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and submitted a memorandum seeking a high-level inquiry into alleged irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Preliminary Examination results.
Mahto alleged that serious discrepancies in the declaration of the preliminary examination results had compromised the interests of lakhs of aspirants across the state. He urged the Governor to order an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or any other independent agency to ensure transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
He clarified that JLKM’s demand was not directed against any individual but was aimed at safeguarding the credibility of the recruitment process and upholding constitutional principles.
In the memorandum, Mahto placed six key demands before the Governor. These include a high-level investigation into the entire preliminary examination process, an inquiry into the absence of signatures of constitutional authorities on the result document, and the non-disclosure of category-wise cut-off marks.
He also sought a probe into claims surrounding an OMR sheet that has reportedly gone viral on social media, calling for verification of its authenticity.
The JLKM leader further demanded that the JPSC Main Examination, scheduled for July 18 to 20, be postponed until the inquiry is completed and the category-wise cut-off marks are officially published. He also urged the authorities to provide candidates with adequate time to obtain the required certificates and prepare for the mains examination.
Mahto demanded strict legal action against officials or agencies found responsible if any irregularities are established during the investigation.
According to Mahto, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar listened to the concerns in detail and assured him that appropriate action would be taken in accordance with the matter presented.
