Kolhan University team receives patent for AI-based blood sugar testing device

In a significant achievement for research and innovation, Dr. Shobhit Ranjan and his team from the Postgraduate Department of Zoology at Kolhan University, Chaibasa, have been awarded a Design Registration Certificate by the Patent Office, Government of India, for their innovative “AI-Based Blood Sugar Test Device.”
The certificate has been granted under the provisions of the Designs Act, 2000 and the Designs Rules, 2001, recognizing the novelty and uniqueness of the device. The innovation has been developed using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology with the objective of making blood sugar testing more accurate, user-friendly, and efficient.
The research team behind the achievement includes Dr. Ben Sujitha B., Dr. Shobhit Ranjan, Chandrakant Hatti, Shanmugha Priya R.K., R.S.R. Thenmozhi, Rahul Verma, Ramesh Dahal, and Dr. Lokendra Bahadur Kathayat. Their collaborative efforts have resulted in a technology that is expected to contribute significantly to advancements in healthcare diagnostics and medical research.
Congratulating the team, Kolhan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta lauded the researchers for bringing recognition to the university through innovation and scientific excellence. She said the accomplishment would inspire students and faculty members to pursue research-oriented activities and strengthen the culture of innovation within the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shobhit Ranjan and his team expressed their happiness over receiving the patent certificate. They noted that the recognition would encourage further research and the development of socially beneficial technologies aimed at addressing real-world challenges.
