Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Meena has issued strict instructions to the Labor Department to ensure that unorganized and migrant workers in the district benefit from government schemes and effectively curb child labor. During a review meeting of the Labor Department held in the Collectorate auditorium on Saturday, the Deputy Commissioner stated that maximum registration of migrant and unorganized workers should be ensured, and regular campaigns against child labor should be launched and strict action should be taken against those found guilty.
The meeting reviewed compliance with the previous review meeting’s directives point by point. During the review, it was found that despite special camps held in several panchayats, the number of workers registered is still not as expected. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Labor Superintendent to immediately organize special camps in panchayats with low registrations to ensure the registration of as many unorganized and migrant workers as possible.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that in each camp, workers should be provided with detailed information about all the Labor Department’s welfare schemes and eligible beneficiaries should be linked to the schemes. He also directed that the dates, times, and locations of the camps be widely publicized in advance, so that more workers can benefit from them. Emphasizing the effective implementation of labor laws, the Deputy Commissioner directed all labor enforcement officers to conduct regular surprise inspections and ensure thorough inspections of various establishments. He stated that negligence at any level will not be tolerated for violations of the rules.
