Miscreants vandalised ‘Shivaling’ in Kanke

Tension prevailed in Kanke area after reports of vandalization of Shiva idol at a Shiva temple in Kanke, Ranchi by some anti-social elements. Seeing the sensitivity of the matter, the Kanke police have launched a search for the perpetrators.
Tension and outrage prevail in the area following the discovery of a desecrated Shivling at a Shiva temple in Sangrampur village, under the jurisdiction of the Kanke police station in Ranchi. Although the incident reportedly occurred late Friday night, it only came to light on Sunday morning. Subsequently, a large number of villagers gathered at the temple premises and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.
The villagers state that the desecration of the Shivling has deeply hurt their religious sentiments. Strongly condemning the incident, they have urged the administration to identify the perpetrators and take strict action against them. The police are maintaining a state of high alert due to the prevailing tension in the area.
Kanke Station House Officer (SHO) Kunal stated that the police arrived at the scene immediately upon receiving the information and have commenced an investigation. The temple housed a natural Shivling. Local residents are being questioned, and evidence related to the incident is being gathered. The matter is being investigated seriously, and action will be taken once the culprits are identified.
