MTMC students plant 150 saplings in campus-wide green drive

Students of the Allied Health Sciences 2026–27 batch at Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) planted 150 saplings across the college campus during a plantation drive organised in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit.
The initiative, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and instilling a sense of social responsibility among future healthcare professionals, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and NSS volunteers.
The plantation drive was carried out with support from the Eco Club, Engineering & Maintenance Department, Outreach Department and the Administration Department, ensuring the smooth execution of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, organizers highlighted the crucial role of tree plantation in combating climate change, improving air quality and maintaining ecological balance. Students also took a pledge to care for the saplings and remain actively involved in future environmental conservation efforts.
A constituent unit of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and a consortium entity of MAHE and Tata Steel Limited, Manipal Tata Medical College continues to emphasize experiential learning while nurturing socially responsible healthcare professionals.
