Preparations for the Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026 gathered momentum as a high-level review meeting was held at the Deoghar Collectorate on Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania to discuss arrangements for devotees visiting Baba Mandir during the month-long pilgrimage.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar, Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Baba Mandir In-charge-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar, senior police and administrative officials, temple priests, and representatives of the Panda Dharmarakshini Sabha.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed measures to ensure smooth crowd management, hassle-free Jalarpan, quicker darshan, better facilities for pilgrims and streamlined VIP puja arrangements. He directed officials to make comprehensive preparations so that devotees do not face any inconvenience during the fair.
Two key proposals received unanimous approval from officials, temple priests and prominent citizens: the establishment of permanent Arghya offering points within the temple premises throughout the year and a complete ban on the use of mobile phones inside the Garbha Griha of Baba Mandir.
The meeting also discussed the construction of a new foot-over bridge, a clock room and additional measures to facilitate safe and convenient Jalarpan. The Panda Dharmarakshini Sabha submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, who directed the concerned departments to examine the suggestions and take appropriate action.
