Three more arrested, juvenile apprehended in DD Bar murder case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sensational DD Bar murder case in Bistupur has arrested three more accused and apprehended a juvenile allegedly involved in the crime, marking a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.
Police also recovered a cache of weapons, a motorcycle allegedly used during the crime, and five mobile phones believed to contain crucial evidence.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Senior Superintendent of Police Ehtesham Waquarib said the SIT is intensifying its efforts to trace the remaining absconding accused. He added that investigators are relying on scientific methods and technical evidence to establish every link in the case and ensure a strong prosecution.
The case pertains to Bistupur Police Station Case No. 84/2026, registered following the fatal attack inside DD Bar on the night of June 27.
According to the police, Himanshu Singh and Pratyush Singh were allegedly attacked with deadly weapons by Vishwanath Lohra alias Bodra and his associates at around 11.30 p.m. Himanshu Singh later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, whereas Pratyush Singh is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Kolkata.
Following the incident, Bistupur Police registered an FIR under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against 10 named accused and several unidentified persons. An SIT was subsequently constituted to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the high-profile murder case.
Police said further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses and efforts continue to apprehend all those allegedly involved in the attack.
