A targeted anti-narcotics operation by the Hansdiha police led to the arrest of three suspected drug smugglers from the +2 High School stadium premises late Sunday evening. Acting on a precise tip-off, a special police team spearheaded by Jarmundi SDPO Naval Kishore Singh executed a raid at the stadium complex, catching the suspects in the middle of a suspected drug transaction and consumption session.
The trio attempted to evade capture by fleeing the room as soon as the police closed in, but they were quickly intercepted and detained after a brief chase. The arrested youths have been identified as Sahadat Sheikh, Mohammad Basir, and Aryan Sheikh, all residents of the Dudhani neighborhood under the Dumka Town police station limits.
A subsequent search of the individuals yielded a total of 9.72 grams of brown sugar. The police recovered 5.46 grams from Sahadat Sheikh, 2.78 grams from Mohammad Basir, and 1.48 grams from Aryan Sheikh.
The contraband was immediately confiscated, and an FIR has been registered against the three accused under appropriate sections. Authorities are currently processing the paperwork to remand the suspects into judicial custody.
