A cyclothon to combat drug menace on Saturday. It was not any optics. It was real. People who took part in it believed its mission – fight drugs and abuse.
Deputy commissioner Palamu Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, SP Kapil Chaudhary and a fleet of officers, commoners, students, boys and girls cycled in the town quite joyfully and enthusiastically.
The administration gave away mementoes to the best cyclists of both the genders.
This correspondent spoke to some participants of the cyclothon who said ” Our DC alluded to just not one addiction, the drug addiction. He referred to mobile addiction. It’s as harmful as anything. This mobile addiction offers a fake feeling of relaxation or of stress when the fact of the matter is mobile addiction is tiring and fatiguing where nerves get raw and irritating.”
Asked by this correspondent if there will be an addiction of mobile glueing day and night when these participants begin to disperse without sharing their thoughts.
An aspirant of the NEET Re-Test slated for Sunday June 21 said “I understand the district administration has de-stressed itself of the banality of the Re Test. It’s a good thing. I didn’t take part in this expedition for fear of anything going wrong with my hands or legs as one needs to be fine and fit in a national level test and this is in fact a re-test.”
Weather in the morning was less humid, if not any stuffy and the cyclists enjoyed the pedalling.
