Jharkhand High Court Judge and Zonal Administrative Judge Justice Sanjay Prasad was accorded a warm felicitation by the District Bar Association during his day-long tour of Dumka. While speaking at the gathering organized inside the Bar Association building, Justice Prasad pledged full cooperation to the legal community and gave a sympathetic hearing to the core grievances and infrastructural needs presented by the advocates.
A key focal point of the event was the longstanding demand for the establishment of a High Court bench in Dumka. Addressing the forum, senior advocate Gopeshwar Prasad Jha presented a compelling case outlining the pressing necessity of setting up the bench in the region, recounting the series of initiatives, representations, and sustained efforts made in the past toward this cause. Responding to the demand, Justice Prasad remarked that realizing the bench necessitates close synchronization among the Central Government, State Government, the High Court, and the Supreme Court. He observed that simple memorandums alone would not suffice and urged the legal fraternity to craft a cohesive strategy and build a concerted movement to press forward. He also committed to extending support toward modernizing the Bar library through CSR funding and upgrading essential amenities for practicing advocates.
The program also witnessed a traditional gesture of goodwill as women advocates tied Rakhis to Justice Prasad and Principal District and Sessions Judge Sudhanshu Kumar Shashi. Earlier, Bar Association President Nishikant Prasad and General Secretary Rakesh Kumar Yadav formally welcomed the visiting dignitary and put forward their views before a large gathering of advocates and judicial officers. Wrapping up his itinerary, Justice Prasad visited the Civil Court complex, where he conducted separate administrative review meetings with judicial officers and local bank authorities.
